Sarzer crossing in Duhok

Snowfall disrupts routes at border with Turkey

DUHOK, January 27 – Continuous snowfall in Duhok has led to a complete halt in traffic at the Sarzer border crossing between Iraq’s Kurdistan Region and Turkey since Saturday morning. The border management confirms that the road will be reopened by the evening.

Abdulaziz Barwari, communications officer at the crossing, said “We couldn’t go to our work today due to heavy snowfall, but municipal teams are now working to open the road, and it is expected to be reopened today, restoring traffic to normal.”
