ERBIL, January 27 — Weather forecasts predict a high likelihood of significant snowfall across 12 areas in the Kurdistan Region, starting tonight and continuing into tomorrow. The affected areas include Penjwen, Sulaymaniyah, Soran, Safin, Rawanduz, Byara, Tawella, Hiran, Nazanin, Smaquli, Kore, and Pirmam.

Meteorologist Mohammed Kalari indicated that from late tonight until Sunday, these regions, along with their neighboring towns and villages, can expect substantial snowfall. Projections vary, with precipitation levels ranging from 1 centimeter to as much as 30 centimeters. The heaviest snowfall is anticipated in the mountainous regions, where all areas are likely to experience some form of precipitation.

Residents and travelers in these areas are advised to prepare for potentially hazardous conditions. Authorities recommend caution, particularly on roads and highways, where visibility may be reduced and surfaces could become slippery. Emergency services are on alert, and local governments are prepared to deploy snow removal equipment and provide assistance as needed.
