Lower temperature forecast across Iraq for the week ahead
BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Meteorological Authority on Sunday released the weather forecast for the coming days, expecting dust and continued drops in temperatures.
The authority said: “Tomorrow, Monday, the weather will be clear with some clouds in the central and southern regions. Winds will be northwesterly, moderate in speed, and will become more than 30 km/h, causing dust. Temperatures will decrease slightly in the central region and remain similar to the previous day in the northern and southern regions.”
It added: “On Tuesday the weather will be clear, with northwesterly winds light to moderate in speed, and temperatures close to the previous day.”
The statement continued: “Next Wednesday the weather will be clear with some clouds. Winds will be northwesterly, light to moderate in speed, and temperatures close to the previous day.”
The authority noted: “On Thursday the weather will be clear with some clouds. Winds will be northwesterly, moderate in speed at 30 km/h, causing dust. Temperatures will be close to the previous day.”
The forecast also listed maximum temperatures for Monday: Duhok, Sulaymaniyah, and Anbar 42°C; Erbil, Salah al-Din, and Diyala 43°C; Nineveh and Kirkuk 45°C; Karbala, Babil, and Baghdad 44°C; Najaf and Muthanna 46°C; Wasit and Diwaniyah 45°C; Dhi Qar 47°C; and Maysan and Basra 48°C.
