Abdul Qadir Al-Dakhil elected as Governor of Nineveh

NINEVEH — Nineveh Provincial Council members have elected the incumbent governor, Abdul Qadir Al-Dakhil, to continue in his role.

Additionally, Ahmed Al-Hasoud was elected as the Council President, and Mohammed Al-Jubouri as the Deputy President.

The former governor of Nineveh, Najim Abdullah Al-Jubouri, resigned in Nov. 2023. Abdul Qadir Al-Dakhil replaced him pending local elections and has now been officially elected to the position by constituents.
