Iraq forecast: clear weather and slight temperature drop over next four days

BAGHDAD — Iraq will see mostly clear skies over the next four days with a slight temperature decrease at the start of the week before rising again by Wednesday, the Meteorological Authority said Saturday.

Sunday will be clear in central and southern regions and partly cloudy in the north, with temperatures holding near current levels. Forecast highs: Duhok 34°C, Sulaymaniyah 35°C, Erbil and Nineveh 36°C, Kirkuk and Anbar 38°C, Salah al-Din 39°C, Baghdad, Diyala, Babil and Karbala 41°C, Wasit and Najaf 42°C, Diwaniyah 43°C, Maysan, Muthanna and Basra 44°C, Dhi Qar 45°C.

Monday will remain clear in central and southern areas with partly cloudy conditions in the north and a slight temperature drop. Tuesday will be similar, with generally clear skies and some cloud cover in the north.

By Wednesday, northwesterly winds will pick up in central and southern regions, at times exceeding 30 km/h and causing light dust. Visibility will range between six and eight kilometers, dropping to three to five kilometers in affected areas. Temperatures will rise a few degrees from Tuesday’s levels.
