Iraq Weather Update
Dust Levels Rise Due to Winds, Slight Drop in Temperature Expected
BAGHDAD — The Iraq Meteorological Organization forecast clear skies and varying temperatures across the country on Wednesday, with dust storms and reduced visibility expected in western regions due to strong northwesterly winds.
According to the report monitored by 964media, clear weather is expected with scattered clouds in parts of the northern region. Conditions in the western regions will tend toward moderate due to the influence of a mild air mass.
Temperatures are expected to drop slightly in the central region, except for its western areas, where a more noticeable decrease compared to the previous day is expected. In the northern region, temperatures will remain close to average levels, while the southern region is expected to see a slight increase.
The report stated that winds in the western parts of the country will be northwesterly at moderate speeds of 20–30 km/h, increasing to 45 km/h, which may lead to rising dust and sand. In other regions, winds will be light and variable, gradually shifting to a northwesterly direction.
Visibility is expected to be 1–2 kilometers in areas affected by dust storms in the western regions, while visibility in other areas will range between 8–10 kilometers due to suspended dust.
