High demand at Erbil beauty salons as couples rush to wed on 5/5/2025
ERBIL — Beauty salons across Erbil saw an unusual surge in bookings Monday, as many couples chose May 5, 2025, for their weddings, viewing it as a visually appealing and memorable date.
Nian Tareq, owner of Daniela Beauty Salon, told 964media, “We styled nearly 45 brides today, starting at 5 a.m.” The demand far exceeded the usual 10 clients they serve on a typical day.
Mariam Ali, a salon staff member, said, “Today we had many more requests than usual. We’re doing our best to make every bride look her best.” She added, “We managed to prepare and style all of them on time.”
Outside the salon, Ahmed Ismail waited for his bride and spoke to 964media. “We chose this date for our wedding because it’s beautiful — 5/5/2025 — and something that only comes once in a lifetime,” he said. “But in the end, the final decision came from the bride.”
He also said that it was the decision of his bride to marry on such a date, adding, “There’s always a high demand for days like this.”
