Iraq’s national security adviser chairs meeting on unified threat registry

BAGHDAD — National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji chaired a meeting Thursday of the Risk Governance Working Group at the National Center for Joint Planning, discussing the establishment of a unified national risk registry and an integrated framework for threat management and crisis prevention.

The meeting was attended by advisers from the Prime Minister’s Office, security and intelligence leaders and state officials. Discussions covered the classification of threats, early prediction mechanisms and preventive measures to reduce risks across areas of responsibility.

Araji said risk management “is no longer limited to being an internal technical function, but has become the sovereign line of defense for protecting public funds, ensuring continuity of services, and strengthening confidence in the decision-making process.”
