Iraq’s summer heat holds, with dust and stronger winds by Tuesday

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s hot to very hot weather will hold in the coming days, with Saturday’s temperatures near the previous day’s and only slight changes ahead, the General Authority for Meteorology said.

Skies stay clear and hot, the authority said, with milder nights and light to moderate northwesterly winds that pick up at times. The winds strengthen on Tuesday, gusting to 40 km/h and raising dust in parts of central and southern Iraq, where visibility could fall to 3 to 5 km.
