Drones strike Iranian Kurdish refugee camp in Koya with no casualties reported

ERBIL — Three drones targeted an Iranian Kurdish refugee camp in Koya district, Erbil, late Wednesday night, the Kurdistan Region Security Agency said, with no casualties reported.

The agency said the attacks took place between 11:10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. as part of a summary of drone incidents recorded over the past 24 hours.

Attacks on the Kurdistan Region have continued since a ceasefire between Iran and its adversaries was announced on April 8. Community Peacemaker Teams-Iraqi Kurdistan documented 48 strikes in the ceasefire period between April 8 and April 24, following 647 recorded between Feb. 28, when U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran triggered a wider conflict, and the ceasefire announcement, bringing the total to 695.

Across the full period, the attacks caused 123 casualties including 22 deaths and 101 injuries, with at least 24 civilians among those affected and more than 67 homes and 45 civilian vehicles damaged. Iran carried out 34.8% of attacks directly, with affiliated groups responsible for the remainder.
