Masrour Barzani congratulates Al-Sudani on re-election as Al-Furatain Movement leader
ERBIL — Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani congratulated Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani on his re-election as secretary general of the Al-Furatain Movement on the party’s conference, expressing hope that “the outcomes and recommendations of the conference will serve as a strong incentive to work toward meeting the needs and demands of citizens within the framework of a federal Iraq,” according to a statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government.
The Al-Furatain Movement, led by Iraq’s Prime Minister Al-Sudani, positions itself as a centrist and reformist political party. In the 2021 parliamentary elections, Al-Furatain secured three seats.
Iraq’s next parliamentary elections are set to take place on Nov. 11, 2025.

Today, Saturday, April 26, Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, sent a congratulatory message to Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani on the occasion of his re-election as Secretary-General of the Al-Furatain Movement.
In his message, the Prime Minister extended his congratulations on the success of the movement’s conference and the re-election of Sudani as Secretary-General. He expressed hope that the outcomes and recommendations of their conference would serve as a strong incentive to work toward meeting the needs and demands of citizens within the framework of a federal Iraq, based on constitutional principles, justice, and the rule of law, where the rights of all components are protected.
