Sudani invites Romanian companies to participate in Development Road project
ERBIL, September 27 — Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani has invited Romanian companies to participate in the Development Road project, which connects Asia to Europe. This initiative aims to enhance economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
A statement from the Sudani’s office, received by Network 964, read:
“Today, Wednesday, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani received the Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee in the Romanian Senate, Mr. Titus Corlățean, along with his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, the head of the delegation delivered an official invitation from his Romanian counterpart, inviting Prime Minister Al-Sudani to visit the Romanian capital, Bucharest.
The meeting also addressed bilateral relations between the two countries, strengthening cooperation in various economic and cultural fields. It emphasized the importance of resuming the bilateral committee between Iraq and Romania to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and their people.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani highlighted the deep historical ties between Iraq and Romania and the importance of their development. He emphasized the possibility of Romanian companies participating in significant strategic investment projects in Iraq, including the Development Road project, which serves as a vital connection between Asia and Europe through Iraq, as well as cooperation in numerous other sectors.
Mr. Corlățean reaffirmed his country’s commitment to enhancing relations with Iraq and strengthening cooperation in agriculture, industry, cybersecurity, automation, and banking system reform. Romania looks forward to launching constructive dialogues between the two countries.”
