Iraqi cars banned from crossing into Iran at two border gates
ERBIL, July 27 — Officials at the Bashmakh border gate have announced a temporary halt on Iraqi citizens crossing with their vehicles due to insurance and legal uncertainties.
A statement from border authorities said the suspension would last from July 25 until August 1.
Officials said the ban on private vehicle traffic was due to issues on the Iranian side and drivers could expect an extension.
The new rule also affects the Haji Omaran crossing.
