Signboards in Rawanduz warn against swimming in local rivers
ERBIL, July 26 — Civil defense teams in Erbil’s Soran district installed 21 signboards on Monday warning about the dangers of swimming in Gali Ali Beg and the Rawanduz River.
Soran Civil Defense spokesperson Ronid Hawdiani told 964:
“Since it’s tourist season, we decided to put up some signs to raise awareness about the dangers of swimming near the Gali Ali Beg resort, the waterfall, and in the Rawanduz River.”
“Most tourists aren’t familiar with the nature of the waters in the area, so we caution them about the risks of drowning. We have installed 21 informative signboards near the Gali Ali Beg resort, and we will be placing them in several other tourist spots and areas in the region.”
