Laments 'betrayal' by informants
Al-Nujaba Movement leader: Current calm ‘tactical repositioning’
BAGHAD – In a recent statement, Akram Al-Kaabi, the leader of the Al-Nujaba Movement, has declared the group’s current period of reduced activity as part of a strategic repositioning. Al-Kaabi accuses ‘agents and traitors’ of compromising the movement by leaking critical information about its operations and whereabouts, expressing disappointment with these breaches among those of the same faith and nation.
Al-Kaabi also addressed the movement’s role in the conflict in Gaza, claiming a central position in the fight against what he refers to as ‘Zionist aggression’, through sacrifice and martyrdom. He expressed skepticism, though not outright dismissal, towards negotiations with the government for an American withdrawal, indicating a preference for armed resistance.
The current lull in activity, according to Al-Kaabi, is a ‘tactical pause’ for repositioning and preparation, ‘necessitated by the betrayal of informants’.
Following American retaliation on Iraqi soil against groups it accused of attacks on U.S. positions, there has been a lull in hostilities with both the U.S. and Iran seeking to avoid further escalation.
Al-Kaabi lamented the lack of support from some religious and national groups, emphasizing that the resistance’s efforts are driven by a pursuit of divine satisfaction and adherence to religious obligations, rather than political or material gains.
