Head of Nujabaa to slain commander: I will hold my tears until revenge

BAGHDAD, January 4 — The Secretary-General of the Iraqi Al-Nujaba Movement, Akram al-Kaabi, mourned on Thursday the death of the Deputy Operations Commander, “Abu Taqwa al-Seidi,” who was killed in a U.S. strike near the 12th Brigade headquarters in the capital Baghdad. Al-Kaabi vowed revenge for his killing.

Statement translation:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

“Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance]. And they did not alter [the terms of their commitment] by any alteration.”

Truthful is Allah, the Supreme Truth.

Abu Taqwa, O beloved friend, righteous companion, humble and devout, possessing noble character, conscious and loyal.

O gallant leader, we shall never fully repay you no matter how much we eulogize you, as if your face has been radiant with the light of martyrdom for days, where we thought it was the radiance of your continuous night prayers and devotion to your Lord and the people while they slept. Here you are, realizing what you always wished for, departing with your loyal companion, Abu Sajjad, to become martyrs. O beloved of our hearts, it seems you left a void that only meeting you again with the Mighty Sovereign can fill. If this was your decision, bear witness that we are patient and content. We say only: “O Allah, if this pleases You, then accept it. O Allah, accept this sacrifice from us.” Congratulations to you on the highest ranks, and congratulations to you, where today you were received by the martyrs Soleimani and al-Muhandis, both adorned with their blood, marking the anniversary of their martyrdom. Your blood now mingles with theirs, and your remains join theirs after four years of grieving their loss. As a commitment to you, I will hold back my tears to keep the fire of loss and pain burning in my heart, so I may unleash it as vengeance and hellfire upon the treacherous occupiers.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

“Indeed, We, [even] We, will take Our revenge against the criminals.”

Truthful is Allah, the Supreme Truth.
