Over two million pills seized
Iraqi intelligence dismantles international drug trafficking network
BAGHDAD — The Security Media Cell of the Iraqi government announced Friday that Iraq’s National Intelligence Service has dismantled an international drug trafficking network, seizing more than two million narcotic pills.
According to a statement, the cell said:
“Based on precise information and intensive intelligence tracking inside and outside Iraq, Iraqi National Intelligence Service units managed to apprehend several major drug traffickers associated with an international network. Following raids on their hideouts in the capital, Baghdad, more than two million narcotic pills intended for distribution across several Iraqi provinces were seized. The apprehended individuals and the confiscated items were handed over to the competent authorities.”
