Temperatures set to rise across Iraq amid light dust

BAGHDAD —  Temperatures are expected to rise across Iraq in the coming days, with hot and stable summer weather prevailing nationwide on Wednesday, according to the country’s meteorological authority.

The agency said temperatures would increase slightly in central and southern regions, while northern areas are expected to see a more noticeable rise. Conditions will remain hot during the day and become milder at night.

Northwesterly winds are forecast at speeds of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour, with periods of increased activity in central Iraq. The winds are expected to generate light dust during daylight hours, particularly in open areas.

Southern areas and western parts of the country may also experience localized weather fluctuations associated with the winds.

Visibility is expected to remain generally good, ranging between 8 and 10 kilometers, but could decline to between 5 and 7 kilometers in areas affected by dust, the report said.
