Thunderstorms and dust expected Tuesday as winds strengthen across much of Iraq

BAGHDAD — Tuesday will bring partly to fully cloudy skies in central and northern Iraq with chances of light thunderstorms in the north and scattered central areas, while the south remains clear with some cloud cover, the General Authority for Meteorology said.

Temperatures will remain close to Monday’s levels in central and northern regions and rise slightly in the south. Winds will shift from light and variable at 5–10 km/h to moderate northwesterly gusts of 20–30 km/h, reaching up to 50 km/h in some areas and raising dust and sand. Visibility will range from 8–10 km, dropping to 2–4 km in affected areas.
