Halabja health directorate announces eight health-related projects
HALABJA – The Health Director in Halabja has unveiled plans for eight upcoming health projects, set to open soon in the region.
Azad Mustafa, the Director of Health in Halabja, announced to 964media that the initiatives include projects funded by philanthropists, the German organization GIZ, and the Kurdistan Regional Government, totaling over two billion dinars.
On Tuesday, Mustafa also mentioned the ongoing recruitment of 130 contract employees and doctors for the Hawraman General Hospital.
The projects are diverse in scope and include:
1. A Birth and Death Registration Office, constructed and equipped by two philanthropists.
2. A new center for kidney and breast diseases, established by a philanthropist, inclusive of all required medical equipment.
3. Provision of prosthetic equipment, sponsored by GIZ.
4. Expansion of Halabja’s Emergency Hospital and construction of a building for a 122 hotline, also by GIZ.
5. Installation of an oxygen production plant and a facility for oxygen bottle refilling, funded by the Kurdistan Regional Government at a cost of 400 million dinars.
6. Opening of the government-funded Hawraman General Hospital, with additional equipment worth 600 million dinars provided by the Halabja Governorate Office.
7. Acquisition of advanced medical equipment for display, with an expenditure exceeding one billion dinars, allocated in the 2023 budget of the Halabja Health Directorate.
8. Construction of a third operating room at the Halabja Maternity Hospital, further enhancing healthcare facilities in the region.
