KIRKUK, January 23 – A gas pipeline in Kirkuk was damaged during digging works, resulting in injuries to three individuals, according to Northern Gas Company. The incident occurred at “Qazliyar” village, situated between Kewan and Yayji, west of the province.

Representatives at the company’s media office told 964media, “The leakage was caused by digging operations in the region, which resulted in the damage of one of the gas transport pipelines. Immediately, the gas propulsion system was shut down to stop the leakage.

“There are no losses or damages due to the leakage, only the pipeline. Security forces have cordoned off the area to protect citizens and prevent them from approaching the site.”
