Sudani launches new expansion project in Al-Nisour Square

BAGHDAD, August 9 — Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani launched on Tuesday an expansion project for Al-Nisour Square that will include three tunnels and two bridges, alongside the Rustumiya Project, as part of efforts to relieve traffic congestion in the Iraqi capital.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s media office read:

Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani has launched the expansion project for Al-Nisour Square, which includes three tunnels and two bridges, alongside the Rustumiya project, encompassing bridge connections from Muhammad al-Qasim Expressway to the Army Canal Road. These initiatives are part of efforts to alleviate traffic congestion in Baghdad.
