Clear and hot weather forecast across Iraq with possible thunder Sunday

BAGHDAD — Iraq will see mostly clear, hot weather through Tuesday with only minor temperature fluctuations, the Iraqi Meteorological and Seismological Organization said Friday, warning of strengthening winds and reduced visibility from dust in parts of the south.

Friday’s conditions will mirror Thursday’s, with hot daytime temperatures easing overnight. Northwesterly winds of 10 to 20 km/h will strengthen to around 40 km/h in parts of southern Iraq during the day, reducing visibility from a general range of 8 to 10 kilometers to between 5 and 7 kilometers in dust-affected areas.

Saturday brings continued sunshine and scattered clouds nationwide, with temperatures rising slightly and northwesterly winds remaining light to moderate. Visibility is forecast at 6 to 8 kilometers.

Sunday is the most notable day in the forecast, with partly cloudy skies in the north and isolated thunder and showers possible in some locations. Central and southern areas will see sunny conditions with some cloud cover, while temperatures dip slightly in central and northern regions compared with the south.

Monday brings sunny weather and scattered clouds across the country, with light to moderate northwesterly winds and variable wind directions in parts of central and southern Iraq. Temperatures hold steady in central and northern areas and ease slightly in the south.

Tuesday continues the pattern of sunny conditions with some cloud cover in central and southern regions and partly cloudy skies in the north. Temperatures rise slightly compared with Monday, with visibility remaining between 6 and 8 kilometers.
