Temperatures to rise Thursday with dust storms expected Friday
BAGHDAD — Temperatures will climb across central and southern Iraq over the coming days, with dust storms forecast for southern governorates on Friday, the Meteorological Authority said Wednesday.
Thursday will be clear with some cloud cover nationwide. Highs will range from 23°C in Duhok to 37°C in Basra, with Baghdad reaching 30°C. Temperatures will rise in central and southern regions and remain steady in the north.
Friday will be mostly clear in central and northern areas, while the south sees cloudy conditions with a chance of light rain. Northwesterly winds will strengthen to up to 40 km/h in the south, raising dust and reducing visibility to 4–6 km in affected areas.
Saturday will be partly cloudy nationwide, with temperatures continuing to rise in central and southern regions.
