Thunderstorms forecast across Iraq with temperatures peaking at 35°C in Basra
BAGHDAD — Scattered thunderstorms are expected across parts of Iraq through Thursday, Iraq’s meteorological authority said Sunday.
Monday will bring partly cloudy skies with thunderstorms in various areas, intensifying overnight in central regions. Maximum temperatures will range from 22°C in Sulaymaniyah and Duhok to 35°C in Basra, with Baghdad reaching 31°C and southern governorates including Najaf, Dhi Qar and Muthanna hitting 34°C. Visibility will range from 6-8 km, dropping to 3-5 km during rainfall.
Tuesday and Wednesday will see partly cloudy conditions with scattered thunderstorms continuing in central and northern areas, while the south remains clear to partly cloudy. Thursday will be partly cloudy overall, with storm chances limited to parts of the north.
