Kurdistan Region declares Christmas public holiday

ERBIL — The Kurdistan Regional Government announced Tuesday that official work will be suspended on Thursday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas.

The holiday applies to both the public and private sectors, including government institutions and offices across the Kurdistan Region, according to a statement from the Department of Media and Information.

The KRG statement also outlined key dates on the region’s official holiday calendar, including New Year’s Day on Jan. 1.
