Clear skies, lower temperatures expected through Saturday across Iraq

BAGHDAD — Skies will be mostly clear across Iraq on Tuesday, with partial cloud cover over northern areas and light clouds gradually spreading across central governorates by afternoon, the General Directorate of Meteorology and Seismology said.

The agency, under the Ministry of Transport, forecast a gradual decline in temperatures, especially in central and southern regions. “Temperatures will be lower than yesterday’s levels in the central and southern regions, while the north will remain stable,” the report said. Morning temperatures in the northern governorates were described as “relatively cold.”

Winds in the central and southern parts of the country are expected to blow from the northwest at speeds of 10 to 20 kilometers per hour. Northern areas will see light, variable winds between 5 and 10 kilometers per hour.

Visibility is expected to range from 8 to 10 kilometers, occasionally dropping to 7 kilometers in areas affected by light dust.

The forecast through Saturday calls for generally clear skies and continued mild northwesterly winds. Temperatures are expected to hold steady in the coming days before rising slightly toward the weekend.
