Interior Ministry denies claims of Kuwaiti border guards firing on Iraqi youth

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Interior Ministry on Sunday dismissed reports circulating on social media that alleged Kuwaiti border guards had opened fire on a group of Iraqi youths near the shared border, resulting in casualties.

“We categorically deny these allegations and confirm that the Iraq–Kuwait border is stable and secure, with no incidents of this kind,” the ministry said in an official statement.

The ministry also called on media outlets and social media users to avoid spreading misinformation and to rely on verified sources. “We urge everyone to exercise caution and refrain from spreading rumors,” the statement read.

The Iraq–Kuwait border runs for approximately 254 kilometers, stretching from the tripoint with Saudi Arabia in the west to the Persian Gulf in the east.
