Al-Sudani, Al-Mandalawi talk Arab summit prep and election planning
BAGHDAD — Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met Wednesday with First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandalawi to discuss strengthening “cooperation between Iraq’s executive and legislative branches”, according to a statement from the prime minister’s media office.
Al-Sudani and Al-Mandalawi also discussed coordination among political forces in preparation for hosting the Arab League Summit in Baghdad next month and organizing the upcoming parliamentary elections, set to take place on Nov. 11, as part of broader efforts to “maintain stability and support Iraq’s development and prosperity.”

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met today, Wednesday, with the First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi.
During the meeting, discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between the executive and legislative branches to advance the government program and fulfill its objectives, ensuring the government continues to meet the aspirations of citizens across Iraq.
The meeting also underscored the importance of coordination among national political forces to deliver on upcoming national priorities, including preparations for hosting the Arab Summit in Baghdad next month and ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place for the upcoming parliamentary elections. These efforts aim to maintain stability and support Iraq’s development and prosperity.
