NSA Al-Araji meets with US chargé d’affaires on security cooperation in Baghdad

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji met with U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Daniel Rubinstein in Baghdad on Sunday to discuss regional developments and continued cooperation in counterterrorism and other areas of mutual interest, the National Security Advisory said in a statement.

The National Security Advisor, Mr. Qasim Al-Araji, received the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Ambassador Daniel Rubinstein, at his office on Sunday.

The meeting included a review of the latest developments in the region, in addition to discussing the continuation of cooperation between Iraq and the United States in the field of counterterrorism and other areas that serve the interests of both countries.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of Iraq’s pivotal and active role in the region and its significance in promoting security and stability at both the international and regional levels.
