Charity organization in Halabja distributes aid to families in need

HALABJA — A local charity organization in Halabja is distributing food and essential supplies to low-income families, with a list of 2,000 households registered for assistance, according to its chair.

The Nishtimani Kurdan Charitable Foundation, established four months ago, has provided thousands of liters of fuel and hundreds of food baskets to struggling families. “During launching our initial operations, we distributed nearly 22,000 liters of fuel,” chairman Aram Najm told 964media. “We prioritized delivering aid immediately to kickstart our work.”

The organization’s efforts extend beyond Halabja to Penjwen, Zarayan, and Said Sadiq in Sulaymaniyah Governorate. Their latest activity was distributing 300 food baskets today in Khurmal and Said Sadiq. Najm said, “We rely on donors and businesspeople to support these efforts.”

Plans are in place to provide clothing and food baskets to 100 orphaned children and their relatives for Eid Al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting.
