PM Al-Sudani: Kuwait is welcome to take part in the Development Road project
BAGHDAD – Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met with Kuwait’s newly appointed ambassador to Iraq, Hassan Mohammed Al-Zaman, to discuss bilateral relations and economic cooperation, according to a statement from the prime minister’s media office.
During the meeting, the prime minister reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to enhancing ties and pointed to “available investment opportunities and Iraq’s favorable business environment for Arab and international companies, including Kuwaiti firms.” He also said that Kuwait is ‘welcome’ to participate in the Development Road project, describing it as an opportunity to “further economic integration and deepen shared interests between the two nations.”
The $17-billion Development Road project aims to connect the Gulf region to Turkey and Europe by building ports, railways, and highways across Iraq.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met today the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Iraq, Mr. Hassan Mohammed Al-Zaman.
The Prime Minister congratulated Ambassador Al-Zaman on assuming his new duties in Iraq and wished him success in his diplomatic mission. He emphasized the deep-rooted relations between Iraq and Kuwait and underscored the importance of further strengthening and expanding bilateral ties across various fields and levels.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to strengthening constructive bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors. He highlighted the available investment opportunities and Iraq’s favorable business environment for Arab and international companies, including Kuwaiti firms.
