Plastic greenhouses flourish in Bazian district
SULAYMANIYAH, July 23 — The number of plastic greenhouses in Bazian district, west of Sulaymaniyah city, has been noticeably increasing, and according to official sources, their annual production has yielded 20,000 tons of agricultural crops.
In 2005, there were just eight plastic greenhouses in Bazian district, and now their number has risen to more than 1500, owned by some 800 farmers.
A source from the Bazian Agriculture Department, told 964: “The plastic greenhouses in Bazian district produce about 20,000 tons of agricultural crops.”
The geographic location, suitable climate, fertile soil, and abundant groundwater in Bazian are direct factors contributing to the increase in the number of plastic greenhouses in the region.
