Ali Jassim bids emotional farewell to Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya
BAGHDAD — Former Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya winger, Ali Jassim, has emotionally parted ways with his Iraqi club to join Italian team, Como 1907. In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Jassim expressed his profound gratitude towards the club, stating, “It is difficult to say goodbye, but this is the fate of life and the nature of football. Words of thanks are not enough for Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, from the fans, management, players, coaches, and staff.”
Born in 2004, Jassim is a promising Iraqi footballer who has made a significant mark early in his career. He has officially signed a three-year contract with Como 1907, stepping into Italy’s top football division, Serie A, following the club’s recent promotion.
Como 1907 play European giants Juventus in their opening match today.
During his tenure on loan at Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, he scored nine goals in 31 league appearances in the 2023-2024 season.
In his farewell message, Jassim acknowledged the support that paved his way to Europe: “I thank everyone who supported me and stood by Ali Jassim, making me a player in Europe today. I am indebted to the people who believed in me and stood by me. I hope to meet their expectations and start well with my new team.”
