KRG approves allowances for Salahaddin University students
ERBIL, September 12 — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has approved the disbursement of three months’ worth of allowances for students of Salahaddin University in Erbil, dating back to the previous academic year, benefiting around 20,000 students.
Dr. Kamran Yusuf, President of Salahaddin University, stated: “I met with the Minister of Finance of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Awat Sheikh Janab, yesterday, and he promised to provide allowances for three months to the university students. The disbursement covers the first three months of the previous academic season, totaling 970 million dinars and benefiting approximately 20,000 students.”
The University pays its students from Erbil 40,000 dinars per month, while students from other provinces receive 60,000 dinars per month.
