Iraq’s interior ministry hosts first national cybersecurity competition

BAGHDAD – The Ministry of Interior organized the first national cybersecurity competition today, Saturday, with 80 contestants reaching the final stage. The event, attended by Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shamri, marks a significant effort by the ministry to scout for young talents and skills in the field of data and information to bolster its cybersecurity efforts.

A statement received by 964media from the ministry highlighted “Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shamri’s sponsorship and presence at the event, which was organized by the ministry’s Cybersecurity Center.” The final stage of the competition saw 80 participants who had advanced from preliminary rounds involving numerous competitors from across the country.
