Man confesses to industrial warehouse fire following arrest

ERBIL — Erbil’s Security Forces Directorate has announced the arrest of the main suspect involved in the arson of a warehouse in the Erbil Industrial Area.

According to a statement from the security directorate, the investigation initiated after the fire at the Decoras Company warehouse revealed that the incident was not caused by an electrical short circuit.

“The act was intentionally committed, and our thorough investigations led to the identification of the individual responsible for setting the warehouse on fire. The suspect was apprehended based on a judicial warrant and has confessed to the crime during the interrogation,” the statement reads.

On Saturday morning, a massive fire broke out in an Erbil warehouse, reportedly causing millions of dollars in damages.
