Message of environmental stewardship

Darbandikhan man celebrates birthday by planting tree for each year

DARBANDIKHAN — In a distinctive celebration of his 28th birthday, a Darbandikhan district resident has upheld his yearly tradition of planting the same number of trees as his age.

On Wednesday, Bilal Hassan planted 28 trees, including pines, rose bushes, and other varieties, in a local garden in Darbandikhan, ensuring they were well-watered.

Hassan told 964media that he involved a group of local children in the tree-planting initiative to spread a message of environmental stewardship.

“My aim is to acquaint children with nature, inspire them to nurture trees, and maintain cleanliness in their environments,” he said.

In a video, Hassan is seen instructing the children on proper tree-planting techniques.

“I hope such activities evolve into a cultural norm, a tradition where individuals celebrate their birthdays by enhancing our green spaces. These efforts contribute significantly to the ecological well-being of our country,” Hassan added.
