Integrity commission detains Mosul municipality officials
MOSUL — The Federal Commission of Integrity announced on Thursday the detention of five individuals, including officials from the Mosul Municipality, for their collaboration with trespassers on state-owned properties in the Nineveh Governorate. Additionally, four trespassers were caught occupying these properties.
According to a statement from the commission, reads
A team from the Nineveh Investigation Directorate successfully detained five employees from the Municipal Sector and the Industrial Cities Sector, as well as officials responsible for handling trespassing incidents in both sectors. These individuals failed to take legal action against those accused of encroaching on properties belonging to the Ministry of Finance and the Mosul Municipality.
The operation, carried out based on a judicial warrant, led to the capture of four individuals who had illegally occupied the properties. These trespassers had established parking lots and car wash and lubrication garages without proper approvals or oversight from the municipal trespassing officials and without formal rental contracts.
A report was filed, and the nine detainees were presented before the investigating judge of the Nineveh Court specialized in integrity cases. The judge ordered their detention under Article (340) of the Penal Code.
