Coordination Framework warns of retaliation if US strikes continue

BAGHDAD, February 8— The Coordination Framework issued a press release on Thursday condemning the killing of Kataib Hezbollah figure Wisam Muhammad Saber (Abu Baqir Al-Saadi) in an American airstrike in Baghdad on Feb. 7.

Statement:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The Coordination Framework condemns the repeated attacks by U.S. forces on Iraq’s sovereignty and their crossing of red lines by targeting official forces and individuals who contributed to defeating terrorist ISIS groups and cleansing Iraqi territories from their Takfiri order once again.

The targeting of martyr Abu Baqir Al-Saadi on Wednesday evening in a densely populated area contradicts with the specified mission of the coalition forces, which are limited to combating terrorist organizations in their areas of presence. We consider it a bloody revenge against leaders who confronted terrorism with strength. We warn that continuing this will open the door to retaliatory attacks, and it will not end there.

We emphasize the necessity of continuing governmental efforts to end the mission of the international coalition, thereby putting an end to the series of aggressive attacks and ensuring the safety and security of citizens.

We extend our condolences to the family of martyr Al-Saadi, his friends, and loved ones, and we ask the Almighty to envelop him in His vast mercy and grant him entry into His spacious gardens.
