PMF details losses to U.S. airstrikes

The Popular Mobilization Forces released an official statement on Saturday, providing comprehensive details of the U.S. attacks on its headquarters in Al-Qa’im last night. The statement affirmed the readiness of Popular Mobilization Forces to “execute any directive from Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, preserving Iraq’s sovereignty.”

Statement:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

“Think not of those who are killed in the Way of Allah as dead. Nay, they are alive, with their Lord, and they have provision.” (Quran 3:169)

A blatant and renewed hostile aggression occurred with the ruthless U.S. airstrikes targeting the official security headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces. The aerial assault last night struck the positions of the steadfast heroes in Al-Qa’im district, west of Iraq. This aggression resulted in the martyrdom of 16 and the injury of 36 others, while the search is ongoing for the bodies of some still missing.

The casualties from the airstrikes are distributed as follows:

Mobile Operations Command of Anbar and the Support Battalion of the 13th Brigade (7 martyrs, 7 wounded).
Logistic Support Headquarters (1 wounded).
Artillery Site (1 martyr, 4 wounded).
Tank Battalion Site (3 martyrs, 10 wounded).
Tank Battalion Site (4 wounded).
Two sites belonging to the 45th Brigade (11 wounded).
Issam al-Baldawi Hospital under the Medical Service (5 martyrs).

The U.S. targeting is a flagrant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty, targeting its official security institutions, and reaching civilian homes, causing terror among civilians. It is a clear breach of all international laws and norms. Therefore, we emphasize the readiness of Popular Mobilization Forces to execute any directive from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, preserving Iraq’s sovereignty, the unity of its land, and the safety of its people.

May mercy and eternity be granted to the martyrs, and a speedy recovery for the wounded.
