KRG mine affairs directorate signs agreement with Red Cross

ERBIL, January 31 – The General Directorate of Mine Affairs and the International Red Cross have entered into an agreement to collaborate on raising awareness about the dangers of mines.

The directorate is in the process of updating agreements with various international organizations.

Ali Miran, general director of the technical department at the Mine Affairs Directorate, informed 964media that in addition to awareness initiatives, the Red Cross has committed to assisting with and supplying essential equipment for mine clearance.

The directorate has nine teams dedicated to conducting regular awareness campaigns throughout the Kurdistan Region.”This year, we have also signed an agreement with the Slovenian TIF organization, which will provide vehicles for some of our teams,” Miran added.
