Duhok provides free wheelchairs to 15 people with disabilities

DUHOK, January 29 — The social monitoring directorate in Duhok distributed 15 wheelchairs to people with disabilities on Monday.

The recipients were identified based on the severity of their needs and selected through a joint effort by the directorate and the Hajar Organization for Humanitarian Work.

Sherzad Hameed, director of the social monitoring directorate, told 964media the wheelchairs, which are typically expensive, were provided free of charge.

“The selection process was carried out by a special committee from the directorate and the organization,” Hameed said. “We hope to continue such activities and distribute more wheelchairs to assist more people with disabilities.”
