Sulaymaniyah plant nursery boosts annual capacity to 1.5 million saplings

SULAYMANIYAH, January 25 — A plant nursery in Sulaymaniyah’s Sarchinar neighborhood said on Wednesday it had increased annual production capacity to 1.5 million tree saplings with the help of the World Food Program (WFP).

The nursery’s head, Danyar Hadi, told 964media that support from the United Nations organization was pivotal in allowing the business to achieve its new output.

Utilizing various methods such as shuttles, cuttings, and seeds, the nursery also provided over 350,000 free saplings to farmers and institutions in Sulaimani last year.

The nursery’s production figures have seen a significant rise over the years. In 2020, it produced 92,000 saplings, followed by 103,000 in 2021.
