Baghdad council sets date for first session

BAGHDAD, 21 January – Yahya Al-Khazali, a newly elected member of the Baghdad Provincial Council from the Absher Ya Iraq party, disclosed that the council’s inaugural session is scheduled for February 8.

Al-Khazali, in a press statement provided to 964media, stated: “The Baghdad Provincial Council is set to hold its first session on the eighth day of next month. During this initial meeting, members of the provincial councils will take the constitutional oath.”

He further emphasized that the primary focus of the governorate councils in the upcoming period would be dedicated to providing all services related to citizens’ needs.

This announcement follows the recent certification of the December provincial poll results by the federal electoral commission.
