Security Forces Down Unidentified Drone in Muqdadiyah, Diyala

Muqdadiyah, Diyala, January 18 — Iraqi security forces successfully downed an unidentified drone on the outskirts of Muqdadiyah district, northeast of Diyala. This incident took place today, Thursday.

A security source informed 964media that the First Division of the Army detected an unusual object in the Imam Weis area on the outskirts of Muqdadiyah. Upon investigation, it was identified as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The forces engaged and successfully brought down the drone.

Following the incident, army forces cordoned off the area, prohibiting access, including to police forces. Stringent security measures are being implemented in Imam Weis to investigate the incident and determine the origin and purpose of the drone.
