Officials issue messages to Iraqi police on 102nd anniversary of force’s founding
BAGHDAD, January 9 — Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa’ Al-Sudani and other officials issued messages of well wishes to all internal security forces on Tuesday on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the Iraqi police’s establishment.
A statement from Al-Sudani’s office read:
On the 102nd anniversary of the establishment of the Iraqi police, we extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation for the performance of the internal security forces, the hand of law and justice. We renew our support and backing for the police and interior agencies as they safeguard stability and civil peace. We also reflect on the sacrifices of the honorable and dignified martyrs, the heroes of the police, whose sacrifices have yielded security, stability, and progress towards the construction projects of our beloved nation.
A message from President Abdul Latif Rashid stated:
Congratulations to all Iraqi police officers on the 102nd anniversary of their founding. On this occasion, we remember the sacrifices made by the Iraqi police and armed forces in combating terrorism, maintaining security, enforcing the law, and ensuring the safety of our citizens. All support must be provided to them so they may continue to perform their responsibilities successfully. We also pay tribute to the martyrs who gave their lives in defense of their homelands and the dignity of their fellow countrymen.
United States Ambassador to Baghdad Alina Romanowski congratulated Iraq on the occasions of both Army and Police days, praising the Iraqi forces’ courage and excellence in maintaining security and stability.

This week, the Iraqi Army and the Iraqi National Police celebrate their anniversaries. Their members serve with bravery and distinction, making the country a safer place for all Iraqis. May their future work continue to build a secure, stable, and sovereign Iraq.
