Basra police arrest gang linked to 25 motorcycle theft cases
BASRA — Basra Police announced on Monday the arrest of a gang accused of committing more than 25 motorcycle thefts across the governorate, with firearms and stolen vehicles found in their possession.
According to a statement from the Basra police, the operation was launched following a reported motorcycle theft in the Hamdan area of Abu Al-Khasib district. A joint task force was formed to investigate the case.
Authorities identified the suspects, arrested them, and seized two pistols, a rifle with ammunition, and six motorcycles.
During preliminary questioning, the suspects “confessed” to carrying out more than 25 thefts in different areas of Basra.
