Clashes between candidate supporters in Wasit

WASIT, December 18 – On Saturday, physical confrontations erupted in the towns of Al-Dabouni and Sheikh Saad among supporters of different electoral candidates. The incidents escalated to the point where police had to step in to restore order.

A security source from 964media reported, “In Al-Dabouni, the clash stemmed from a dispute within an extended family over their support for different candidates. In Sheikh Saad, the conflict was between supporters of two distinct electoral lists.”

The police were called to intervene in both towns. They successfully broke up the clashes and detained individuals responsible for instigating the conflicts.
