Hot conditions to hold across Iraq before slight rise midweek
BAGHDAD — Iraq will see hot to very hot weather over the coming days, with temperatures relatively stable before a slight rise on Wednesday, the General Authority for Meteorology said.
The authority said Saturday that conditions would stay clear and sunny across most areas, with some cloud over the north. Temperatures will hold near Friday’s levels, hot to very hot during the day and especially at midday, with milder mornings and nights. Light to moderate northwesterly winds of 10 to 20 km/h will gust to 40 km/h in eastern parts of the south around midday, raising light dust in desert areas and along open roads. Visibility will run eight to 10 kilometers, dropping to five to seven in dusty areas.
Sunday will be generally clear with similar temperatures. Monday stays clear, with northwesterly winds picking up to 30 km/h in the central and southern regions and temperatures holding. Tuesday will be much the same. By Wednesday, skies remain mostly clear with some cloud in the north, moderate northwesterly winds and temperatures rising slightly nationwide.
